Paul “Rochie One” Rochester / Presenter

I am a serious music connoisseur and vinyl junkie specialising in Soul, RnB, Jazz Funk, Disco, Boogie, Smooth Jazz & Gospel who loves listening to, collecting and playing music. My love for music started seriously after leaving school, buying vinyl at a staff discount from CBS Records in Ladbroke Grove, my first job, and then it grew from there. Sometimes being asked to play at house parties and then getting into volunteering in hospital radio for 10 years at Radio Northwick Park.
Previously on The Soul Of Grenada, Saturday’s 3-6pm GMT, broadcasting live to the Eastern Caribbean on FM and on the Web with my London Marathon show, 3 hours of Soul birthdays/anniversaries, sport and music.
In Lockdown I was doing my own daily breakfast shows on LSR and an RnB independent artist new music show on thesoultrainradio.com Tues/Weds 2-3pm & Thurs 7-8pm, all GMT. This was particularly rewarding interviewing Eddie Saunders of the New Jersey Connection, Erin Stevenson, Heidi Tann and Derwin Daniels.
I have presented the Network Soul Chart with Nigel Waymark (SMR) & Mark O’Connell (SLR) and covered presenting Smooth Jazz countdown shows and am always looking for the next challenge.
I have a quite unique presentation skill and love doing specialist shows which are always well produced and presented.
It would be great if you could join me on Sunday’s at 2pm where I hope to educate, enlighten and entertain you.

I'm here to share great music! A 60's kid raised in the 70's with a backdrop of Ska, Rock Steady, Reggae, Disco, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop and Pop. From 4 years old I would remember the names of artists on the songs I liked. I bought my first 7 inch vinyl record, ‘Dat’ by Pluto Shervington as his lyrics, delivery and flow literally blew me away! At 13, I was on the club scene going to Cubies, Phoebe's and All Nations, listening to Sir George (Cubies) and CASANOVA sound systems ( Phoebe's ) and Unity (All Nations). Simply  loving the message in the music, from then right up to present day.
