Colin French

Colin was fascinated by music from a very early age, listening to his father’s 45’s, initially on the Gramophone, and later the family’s Music Centre. Older sibling would play the latest LP’s, Cassettes, and singles by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, Jackson 5, Bob Marley and Dennis Brown to name a few. Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie and I AM by EW&F being family favorites during the late seventies. These records had a big influence on Colin’s musical tastes for years to come, particularly favouring the big productions and vocals.
It was during the early eighties where the appetite for record collecting elevated to another level. Attending clubs, and wine bars introduced Colin to other black music genres including Jazz and the and Funk and a fusion of the two. Listening to specialist radio shows across the FM dial during the same period also played a big part in what is listened to and played to today.
Colin has performed at various venues for several promotors, mainly around London and the sounding counties for many years, also at selected private functions. All black music genres can be catered for any time depending on the occasion including Classic Soul. RnB, Gospel, Funk, Jazz, Soulful House, Broken Beats  & Reggae.
Colin’s Radio presenting career commenced in the early 2000’s on various radio stations playing a mixed selection of soulful music through the decades.
The Soulful Selection radio show can be heard live on universalsoulradio.com every Sunday between 8.00hrs and 10.00hrs CET.
